Diet pills may be the most effective way of getting rid of the extra pounds that bother you, but it is not the healthy way of dealing with weight. Although the amazing diet pills may be the suggested solution by your friend who looks great because of them (or at least this is what she sustains), the first important step before involving your body into a metabolic revolution is to consult your health care provider or a nutritionist. In many cases the solution for the extra pounds is not that simple as taking some diet pills and may imply many other changes in your lifestyle – eating habits (especially in the night and especially junk food), drinking habits (especially water and all types of juices) and activity habits (especially if no daily activities are included).

Diet pills gain more popularity because of their advertisements, which are very attractive (no changes in the lifestyle-great results), and because of the related comfort of being relaxed and not fighting for the way you look. Moreover, the advertised aspects about the plant content of the diet pills may also seem attractive. The label of naturist and of being one of the recommended methods of weight loss of the holistic medicine or of other alternative medicine may attract many customers. The reality is that no alternative medicine would recommend magic pills for extraordinary results instead of changing the eating habits and some aspects of the lifestyle. Besides, the naturist content of the diet pills is more than questionable since their effect is basically appetite suppression.

The miraculous effects of the diet pills are also questionable and the expected weight reduction may never occur or may be replaced by obesity and other health problems after finishing the diet pills. The natural desire to eat is suppressed in a very unnatural way so that the desired weight reduction would appear. The main idea is that the diet pills are able to induce a state of unwillingness of food similar with the periods when your life is threatened (danger, negative emotions due to negative events, etc.) and no appetite desire occurs. Inducing this state in the body may have serious consequences for the health of the involved person.

The most obvious side effects of the diet pills are the following: nervousness, insomnia, fatigue and even high blood pressure. Restlessness and hyperactivity are other side effects induced by the disharmony that takes place in the body. Headaches, vomiting and diarrhea are other symptoms that testify about the negative effects of the diet pills. Moreover, palpitations, stroke and other heart problems may appear as a result of the unnatural state of the body induced and maintained by the diet pills. Other intestinal disturbances are also possible and instead of the mentioned diarrhea constipation may appear. Irregularities of the menstrual cycle, perspiration and fever, as well as eye problems are also possible. Overdoses of the diet pills are more dangerous and may be the cause of heart attacks or renal failure. Other consequences of the overdoses may be convulsions, general confusion and even hallucinations.

There are exceptions when diet pills are recommended, taking into account and discussing with the patient the possible side f\effects. The only case when the diet pills are recommended and used is when the life of the patient is threatened by the overweight. Other cases require special advice and in most of the cases a long term program for weight loss, including some changes in the lifestyle and of the eating habits. Lifestyle changes seem to be the most effective weight loss program with no side effects and with results that may exceed your expectations.
