Lump is considered the most frequent sign of any type of adenoma, but there are also other symptoms related to lump that may help in establishing the right diagnosis. These symptoms may be pain and swelling, but also some changes in the skin appearance. The skin symptoms are related with many diseases, but the specificity of these symptoms may point out the right diagnosis.

There is some bad news about the adenoma symptoms, as especially in the case of bronchial adenoma, the symptoms may not be so obvious. This fact is due to the small dimensions of tumor and slow growth of this tumor. Besides, the symptoms of bronchial adenoma depend on the location of the tumor, be it the case of a central location or of a peripheral location. The absence of symptoms in the case of peripheral location of the tumor is characteristic; that is why this type of tumor is usually discovered by chance while taking some chest x-ray films.

The bronchial adenoma with the tumor located centrally present many symptoms related to the bronchial asthma and chronic bronchitis. That is why cough, sputum production and even fever may be easily taken as signs of the mentioned bronchial affections. On the other hand, these symptoms may get worse and may be signs the destruction of the lung tissue. The breathing difficulty, also known as dyspnea, is another symptom of the bronchial adenoma. The air flow through the narrowed smaller airways provokes a specific whistling sound. Another symptom called stridor may appear in the case adenoma is in the large bronchi or in the windpipe. Stridor is another strange sound that may be produced during the breathing process, pointing out the abnormality of the health state of the respiratory system.

The parathyroid adenoma symptoms may be also usually considered signs for other affections and health problems. In this way, the parathyroid adenoma is also discovered accidentally, as the symptoms may not be considered serious or severe. Among the common symptoms of the parathyroid adenoma are: constipation, nausea, lethargy, muscle pains and bone fractures. Even the kidney stones may be a sign of the parathyroid adenoma. It is easy to observe that the mentioned symptoms can’t contribute to a serious thought about some diseases. Therefore, attempts to treat these symptoms may bring the patient to the doctor where the real diagnosis may be established with the help of some special analysis.

Pituitary adenoma presents some specific symptoms that may be discovered in the case of consulting a specialist. Overproduction of hormones is considered a clear sign of the pituitary adenoma and this overproduction may present different other symptoms depending on the hormone that is overproduced. The compress of the optic nerves and therefore visual problems may also appear in the case of pituitary adenoma. Another specific symptom of this type of adenoma is the reduction of the normal hormone production. There are also some non-specific symptoms that are related with the visual deficit symptom (double and blurring vision). Another non-specific sign of the pituitary adenoma is the severe headaches.

As in the case of other types of adenoma, adrenal adenoma does not have clear symptoms that may point out to the health problem of the patient. The single possible sign of this type of adenoma is the overproduction or reduction of the steroid hormones production. The most obvious symptoms of some overproductions of the steroid hormones may be the hair growth and acne. Some other hormonal problems may also occur in the case of the adrenal adenoma, but these problems alone may not necessarily show the presence of such severe affections.
